MASTER PLANNING At the beginning of a project, DBI’s master planning services provide value by determining the characteristics, possibilities, and restrictions of a specific property and illustrating design concepts that work on the site. These planning services help guide clients through a variety of land use, zoning, traffic, environmental, and demographic issues. ARCHITECTURE DBI has offered an architectural division since the 1990s. Areas of expertise in building design include commercial office buildings, private schools, colleges and universities, and religious facilities. INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN DBI has been providing a full range of interior architecture and interior design services to the commercial real estate community as well as to corporations, associations, and legal firms since 1973. In the early 1990s, the firm’s client base expanded to include federal government agencies, international institutions, and technology firms. Clients today include local, national, and international organizations. BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING DBI began designing computer rooms in the early 1980s. During the technology boom, project types expanded to include network operation centers, switch sites, data centers, advanced concept laboratories, and video teleconferencing centers. DBI has designed technology-oriented spaces around the country for clients. STEALTH DESIGNS DBI began designing computer rooms in the early 1980s. FURNITURE MANAGEMENT DBI provides project management for all client furniture requirements ranging from systems furniture and casegoods in general office space to complex solutions for operations, command, conference, and training centers. Services include strategic planning, furniture and manufacturer selections, workspace designs, finish selections, management of the procurement and installation processes, and on-site management of all associated vendors. SUSTAINABLE DESIGN DBI is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and has 24 LEED certified designers on staff. All DBI staff are sensitive to the importance of environmental issues. When finishes, fixtures, materials, or furniture are specified, recycled materials are used wherever possible, woods from endangered rain forests are not considered, and materials that have a long-term, detrimental effect on the earth’s environment are avoided. The firm’s goal is to specify goods that are sustainable, energy efficient, and socially and environmentally friendly. |
