DBI’s Architectural Designer Masha Casey, AIA Assoc., recently visited the City Center Public Charter School’s Petworth location in Washington, DC to speak to students in the aftercare class about her career as an architect.
Describing her visit, Masha writes:
After a long day at school, I expected the students in the Petworth City Center Public Charter School aftercare program to be less than excited about a presentation on architecture and design. How mistaken I was! Seeing the interest that these young children have in art and design was an inspiration. They all came full of questions, and more than a few left with a spoken desire to work in the architecture field one day. Their one suggestion? Swimming pools—everywhere!
