GETWELLNETWORK

While working with GetWellNetwork (GWN) on its new headquarters, the main objective was to create a space that embodied the purpose-driven mission of GWN, and a culture built on innovation, collaboration, and teaming while still infusing the companies Six Commitments, Patient and Inspirational Quotes, Employee Rules, and GWN Logo/Emoticon/Corporate Colors. All design decisions and material selections were made to ensure that these items were implemented consistently.

You are immediately welcomed at GWN by its corporate Smiley Face emoticon paired with rich purple hues and vibrate gold tones, crisp high-gloss whites, warm raw oak veneer, exposed polished concrete floors, and a custom mural that captures the essence of GetWellTown and serves as the backdrop to the main seating area.

As you move through the office you are joined by Patient and Inspirational Quotes that are located on all corridor walls that follow your path of travel. The open studio area is purposely interrupted in a rhythmic order with wood pods constructed from raw unfinished plywood that have GWN’s Six Commitments branded into them. These wood pods serve as open teaming areas for impromptu conversations. Each pod is outfitted with either a traditional meeting table or with casual lounge furniture. All teaming areas are equipped with AV/IT/TVs for presentations or product demonstrations. All adjacent private offices maintain a visual connection to the studio with floor-to-ceiling glass at all office fronts. All workstation panels were kept to a low height to allow natural light to flow throughout the space. A different accent fabric, selected to match the Corporate Colors, was used to differentiate among departments. All white walls throughout the space, including open areas as well as private conference rooms, were treated with a wall coating from floor to ceiling to maximize the amount of writeable wall space.

The main conference rooms are centrally located and adjacent to the reception and breakroom areas to allow GWN to retract the secondary walls and reconfigure as needed. Raw unfinished plywood encases the main full-height glass wall in each conference room. All conference rooms were designed with state-of-the-art video teleconferencing, AV/IT, and smart board interactive technology.

The breakroom is centrally located adjacent to the main conference rooms and the game room. An industrial stainless steel and glass garage door opens to combine the game room and breakroom for GWN’s daily ping pong battles. All eight corporate colors were implemented in a random-stripe approach to the two main walls and ceiling of the breakroom. Linear light fixtures and voids also occur within the ceiling for additional visual interest. The back wall of the breakroom is designed with banquette seating for meals or an additional casual meeting area. The main bar counter is centrally located and constructed of raw oak veneer that visually carries the same language of the reception area ceiling and wood pods.

Though not a LEED-certified project, many sustainable design elements were incorporated into this office build out, including recycled rubber tile floors and wall base, recycled stainless steel, carpet tiles, leather, wool, FSC-certified veneers, recycled fabrics, 0 VOC paint, acoustic ceiling tiles, and LED lighting. In addition, over 95% of all regularly occupied spaces have access to daylight.
